The state of libertarianism

John Quiggin's post today about the current state of the US libertarian movement (he notes that one part of it has moved towards the Left - he's referring to the Niskanen Centre) is an interesting read.  The question is, though, how many libertarians are ever going to be inclined to follow that path.

This is not unusual. People of intellectual pursuits often agree whilst their politics differ a lot.
Back in the good old days there was common agreement between Quiggin and Soony for example.

what makes this unusual these days is how the political divide is so large and you are not allowed to agree with the 'other side'!
