It's hard not to be amused at the way everyone now wants to consult octopodes as oracles. Is there a quatrain from Nostrodamus that predicted this development?
"The Nations will fight on the field of the beasts
The spawn of the Kraken will foretell the outcome

There was once a Roman General who prior to a battle consulted an oracle. When the sacred chickens wouldn't peck at the grain - this being a bad omen - said "Well if they won't eat, then let them drink" and flung them off the ship.
