Let the healing begin.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

So the Liberal Party chooses a new leader, who, even before last week's meltdown, no one has ever thought electable as PM, and who has now set himself up as the puppet of the do-nothing AGW skeptics, yet has to work out what policy on the topic he can credibly bring to the next election.

Farce on a spectacular scale!

Possible good outcome: by losing by one vote, will Malcolm be convinced to wait around and have again after the next election? Would he happy leading an Opposition of about 30?

One of Turnbull's problems is that he sometimes managed to look like a leader to the left but never won the support of the right. Tony Abbott's problem could be exactly the reverse. He may be more successful than Turnbull - he's a very smart, articulate, and thoughtful man - but he's going to have a devil of a time getting any votes at all, especially now that he will be seen as the favoured leader of the spoilers.

Yep. One credible thing he could do from an AGW point of view is have an actual pro-nuclear policy, as even skeptics like the idea of nuclear. But it seems pretty certain that the end result of the policy mayhem disclosed by these events will be control of the Senate by the Greens, which means no nukes for a long, long time.
